I'm curious what everyone else is doing for the ASW? Driving/Flying, hotel or what?

Flying from Texas. Staying in a hotel a few blocks away from the school Thursday night. Staying at another hotel through the weekend with family to see the sites!Cupidity wrote:I'm curious what everyone else is doing for the ASW? Driving/Flying, hotel or what?

How does BU notify applicants of their decision? Do admitted students receive a phone call and waitlisted/rejected students receive a letter?

1. Does BU do rolling admissions?
2. If BU does not do rolling admissions, does anyone know when the next batch of acceptances/rejections/wait lists is coming?

Re: Boston University Class of 2013
Is this the right place to ask about housing?
From what I've gathered, the main areas to look at staying in are Brookline/Allston/possibly Cambridge. They're all definitely really pricey, so I'm unsure how the whole roommate situation works.
I'm from the West Coast so logistics might be a bit fuzzy. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I go about this?

The 580 Commonwealth Ave. graduate housing looks sick, and its in walking distance of the Law school and pretty conveniently located in relation to the BU health and fitness facility. I was planning on living there, but a close friend of mine just got accepted to Brandeis and now I think we are going to live together, anyone have any recomnmendations as to what would be convenient for both these schools?

Seriously, compared to Fordham and UVA--our class of thread sucks. I'm going to comment on this thing non-stop until we are as social as they are.

I did some research on housing and found this stuff:
http://www.bu.edu/offcampus/
(But we can't access that yet, I think.)
http://www.brooklinepads.com/
http://www.allstonpads.com/
(a bunch of other XYZpads.com are listed on the left side)
Living on campus is furnished but pricey...and I think it'd be a hassle having to move in and out during summer since the lease only goes from August-May. And I think if you live on campus, you have to get a meningitis shot.
I'm not a big fan of needles, and I hear that one is not too fun.

Re: Boston University Class of 2013
This is the first I´m hearing about graduate housing. What do we know about it? I´m about 85% sure I will be attending, got the PI scholarship. Pretty sure I want to live off campus but I´d like to check out my options.
Just googled bu graduate housing. Did anyone get info about this in their admit packets?
Oh and as far as travel stipends, they offered me $200 to help fly from Peru to boston... which barely put a dent in the cost so I´m not headed to asw. Would love to hear the reports though.

hahaha, ok nevermind. Twin beds, you have to be on the meal plan and it costs about the same as renting your own place. I am way to old for that setup.somethingclever wrote:This is the first I´m hearing about graduate housing. What do we know about it? I´m about 85% sure I will be attending, got the PI scholarship. Re: Boston University Class of 2013
I really want to attend the April one, but I'm coming from the West Coast and the cost is a bit prohibitive. Money is a bit tight so I might have to just take a student-led tour later. Hopefully the financial aid stuff comes through within the week so I can be sure I'm going to BU (and make the ASD).utcris410 wrote:Good info!
