Shouldn't be.
When I was at Ivy at the March ASW, the front office said that to be safe, if you put in for a room by the end of March, you should be able to get exactly what you want and close to the law school. After that, you may have to settle for slightly further away, but space shouldn't be an issue.
That's what they told me, anyway.

By the way, congrats to everyone on 100 pages! A grand milestone in geeky anxiousness achieved by so few TLS classes.

Just spoke to Pam Thomas at Ivy Gardens. They had a number of requests for singles just this morning. Might not be a bad idea to get moving if you wanted to grab a single on the end of Ivy that's closer to the law school.

I already own some. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

It's a great thing. A man could never have too many pairs of Sperrys.
Am I the only one who had to google what these are?

Boat shoes.
And, in my defense, I work with boats, so like, they're actually pretty handy. That said, they're kind of beat, I wonder if I can get away with wearing them to ASW.

Everyone had on top-siders for the March ASW. I had some really comfy Aldo loafers and felt out of place.

I was at the March ASW and wore rolled up khakis with rainbows. So of course you can get away with your beat up sperrys. Just keep in mind that you are admitted & don't need to impress anyone.

I'm losing faith in my fellow future-Wahoos...
Do I have to provide some kind of tutorial on expectations of students at Southern schools?

Not here. I've got my sperry's, seersucker shorts, and moppy haircut good to go.

I think I'm supposed to smile a lot and hold open doors for people. I'm lost on the rest. Not entirely sure that much smiling is good for your face either.

It would appear I will be yachting from my spring retreat in Martha's Vineyard down to Charlottesville alone for this upcoming ASW. Now who will mix my mint juleps?

Wait until May 1, after the Derby.

We're asian, so we get a pass on all things regarding manners/dress.

Yeah, I noticed at the ASW that I probably wouldn't be able to toss that defense up.

Wow. I have been following the "hot for a black girl" thread. It's pretty shocking stuff and it gets crazier by the day. Check it out if you want to feel good about yourself because those people are CRAZY.

I showed up to the ASW with a gigantic hole in my jeans. I think you're fine not knowing what topsiders are -- you'll always look more put together than me.

UVA is really my top choice and I would do ED (for class of 2014) if it weren't for the financial questions. Is it true that if you apply ED, the admissions office considers you for scholarship money just the same way as if you were applying regular decision? For people who did ED what has been your experience with scholarship money from UVA? Do you think if someone with a 171, ~3.85, and VA residency would get scholarship money if they did ED? Thanks for any help in advance!
No, I don't think they do consider you for the same aid if you ED. Multiple sources for this, including my own experience with similar numbers. HOWEVER, if you are a VA resident, they are going to be very interested in you. RD with lower numbers and VA residents got money.
I'm an ED -- my numbers are worse (significantly worse on the GPA side), non-res w/ a $22k+/year scholarship. Trujillo is the man.

Not to knock those rocking the topsiders, but thank you for representing the ripped jean wearing contingent! Hopefully I won't be the only one wearing chucks around campus!
