Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
The students that gave us the bus tour said that Wasabi was one of the better sushi restaurants in the area and we definitely drove by the vodka/sushi bar Sub Zero looked pretty cool. Aaaand I believe the Carleton crew is located really close to the Drunken Fish which i hear has good drink specials. I looovvveee sushi myself being asian of course haha. But the skepticism remains about it coming from SD, I'm sure it will be good. I won't get in till the 19th/20th so save some of that sushi/beer for me kplzthx.

You picked WUSTL so you could get a free ride to the games, didn't you?romothesavior wrote:I'll one up najumobi.
Got the Cardinals tickets in the mail Saturday! Front rows in the second deck down the left field line, so not bad seats. I still have a couple left to sell, so if you want to go, please let me know.
The tickets were $17.50 with tax, and a $1 service fee on each ticket made it $18.50. If no one objects, I'm going to ask for an even $20. I'm obviously not trying to make a profit here, but I'm worried that if a couple of people back out at the last minute, I'll be eating fifty bucks or something and I'd like to spread the risk. Consider it a $1 "Romothesavior Service Fee."Plus we already got these tickets for really cheap since it was half price night. If everyone comes, I'll give ya your dollar back.
****Also, IF YOU HAVE NOT PM'D ME TO TRADE PERSONAL INFO, PLEASE DO SO ASAP.****

haha I hope you don't mix the wasabi and soy sauce. but really nigiri is only good when the fish is good, sometimes it just comes down to rolls.finalaspects wrote:i love sushi. and for those claim to love sushi... i hope you guys aren't the types that eat only rolls...

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
So everyone who's down for sushi wanna meet up on the 21st? It's a Saturday. The place I was referring to was right off of Delmar, and it was all you can eat (so maybe if someone was new to sushi they could try out a bunch of different stuff), but maybe if we all wanna get drinks too SubZero, might be a good place? Votes?

indeed. i can tell you are a true sushi fan. it is considered rude to mix wasabi and soy sauce but like you said it depends if the fish is good. i usually look for good toro and unagi.motedust wrote:haha I hope you don't mix the wasabi and soy sauce. but really nigiri is only good when the fish is good, sometimes it just comes down to rolls.finalaspects wrote:i love sushi. and for those claim to love sushi... i hope you guys aren't the types that eat only rolls...

Anybody going to be around in the next few weeks, first round of beers (because you def. need beer for any occasion, including sushi) is on me!
what's the name of the place your referring to? i would like to look it up. there's another a japanese restaurant that's actually on the first floor of my apartment building that has been rated well according to google so i will be trying that place out.

Hey NU Jet, did you ever price those Rams/Chiefs tickets for December. I mentioned the idea of going to my mom and she's super excited now, so if you know how much they cost or some way to get them cheap let me know.

URGENT NEWS BULLETIN:
Tenants just signed the lease for my condo. I'm officially a landlord! I never thought that I would say something like that. Now I won't go bankrupt paying my mortgage in Chicago and my rent in St. Louis.
Today is a good day.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
not to be a total creeper, but... if you want good sushi around WUSTL, try Kampai in the CWE. I currently live in the CWE (life-long STL resident), and Kampai is heads and tails above the competition. Subzero is much more enjoyable as a bar (ice bar!) than as a sushi restaurant, and I've never been fond of Drunken Fish (overrated, seems like more of a trendy club than a sushi spot).
Blue Ocean (in the loop) is also a solid option, and it offers all-you-can-eat sushi at three different price levels.
Anyway, good luck to you all at WUSTL- it's a great school. (I might be joining you all in a year). And if you have any questions about STL, just ask.

Right now the cheapest on stub hub is $41. As it gets closer to Dec. 19th and the Rams continue to suck, the tickets will likely be even easier/cheaper to find. I'm definitely going to go though so it'd be sweet if we could tailgate beforehand or something KC style.Rock Chalk wrote:I'm already here. Moved in last Friday. I agree that Drunken Fish is overrated. But I'm from LA, and I live within walking distance of Little Tokyo. I've been downing bucketloads of sashimi this summer so I can last through the semester.
Also, I am flying back to STL on Friday!

Egregious, rampant, inexcusable "the Chiefs are not going to suck and thus will not contribute to low ticket prices" trolling.NU_Jet55 wrote:
