Eh, well figure out who everyone is eventually. You all have a pretty good head start on me. I'm sure there will be many a TLS meet up party come August.

Way to ruin the joke. I think you are right though, it would be hard for your real life rep to be worse than your tls rep.calicocat wrote:it might ruin an irl reputation tbhJericwithers wrote:Yes, that would ruin your much beloved TLS reputation.calicocat wrote:<--------would prefer if people didn't make the tls--->irl connection with hersjsteece wrote:Eh, well figure out who everyone is eventually. I strongly suggest visiting first. The apartment situation there didn't seem so bad that you would have to resort to Hughes so quickly.calicocat wrote:meeeeeeeeecicely101 wrote:I think I'll be Hughesing it up this fall!!! Who's with me?!

I sent my application to Hughes about 10 days ago online, however, I am now leaning on living off campus... Is the application binding?

Leaning that way, but waiting to visit before making any choices.cicely101 wrote:I think I'll be Hughesing it up this fall!!! Who's with me?!

I got a glimpse of Hughes when I made an unofficial visit recently and yes it's not glamorous at ALL, but I think it would be convenient. Also, I think it's a great way to make 1L friends who aren't in your section. Just my two cents!

Link: http://www.campuslife.cornell.edu/campu ... ousing.cfm
Scroll down where it says "Graduate & Professional Students" and click on where it says "click here if you are a new student but do not have an net ID yet...."
and the application will appear in a new window...
Hope that helps! =)

Re: Cornell 2013
I don't think making friends everyone in your overall class will be a problem at Cornell, and I am sure some current students would support that assertion. If you don't mind the feel of living in the 'basement' of the law school (thats how I felt when I toured) then it is probably a great way to make really close friends and have a larger part of your day free to study and get help from or help your suite-mates on the material. I am not trying to make it seem horrible or convince people not to go, but I strongly feel that touring the place before committing yourself is the prudent thing to do.cicely101 wrote:Jericwithers wrote:I strongly suggest visiting first. In other news: where is my financial aid offer? I am going to call tomorrow if it isn't here yet.

I sent them an email and received a response this morning. They told me they mailed me a letter yesterday. I'm incredibly nervous.... "letter" doesn't sound like "packet."Jericwithers wrote: In other news: where is my financial aid offer? I am going to call tomorrow if it isn't here yet.

I doubt it would be a packet, unless they are stuffing said packet with the cash amount of your offervexion wrote:I sent them an email and received a response this morning. It's true -- not hard to make friends who are not in your section. If anything, you'll probably get sick of the Hughes crowd, since you are cooped up with them in one building all year.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
