Re: Columbia 2013
Hm. Did you get that e-mail today about signing up on AdmitNet? I got one telling me I can register now, but I keep getting the following message when I go to the website: "Sorry, AdmitNet portal is not available at this time. Please contact your Admissions office if you have questions."of Benito Cereno wrote:now lets see if i actually appear in the directory today (deposited on the 22nd)
Anyone else having this problem? Also, is the directory everyone keeps referring to on this AdmitNet business? Or somewhere else? What is the deal?

Re: Columbia 2013
Admitnet isn't working for me at work (not loading/connecting).
I'll check again when I get home.
EDIT: Yeah, "not available at this time etc etc"

I just realized AdmitNet wasn't necessary for e-mail activation, too. Definitely activated my UNI. Anyone know how and/or when we can get those fancy schmancy ______@law.columbia.edu addresses?of Benito Cereno wrote:yes, me too but does this bring me any closer to activating my email account?highprofessionalism wrote:+1 !UnitarySpace wrote:It's working now woot.

They should send you an email about activating your Columbia email address... I think I received it a week or so ago. It probably comes sooner/later depending on when you sent in your seat deposit.

Isn't this one the UNI@columbia.edu address? Or did you already get your firstname.lastname@law.columbia.edu address? If so, I'm jealousrx3r wrote:They should send you an email about activating your Columbia email address... I think I received it a week or so ago. Re: Columbia 2013
In the directory today!
Kind of anticlimactic that my UNI just reactivated by itself, my emails were already being forwarded since I'm an alumna, etc. So, I have nothing to do, but it's fun to see the graduation year in my account change to 2013.
Can't wait until August!

Re: Columbia 2013
Loan applications are due May 15. Filled out the FAFSA thing online a few months back but haven't heard anything. Apparently you need to also fill out a loan form for the Stafford and submit it to Columbia but when I asked Columbia they just said that they are transitioning to direct loan program but didn't explain if this meant I did or did not have to fill out any additional forms beyond NeedAccess and FAFSA before may 15th to be eligible for a stafford. Does anyone have any idea?

In the Columbia finaid thread, someone wrote that because of the transition to Direct Loans, CLS extended the deadline to June 1...but that's about the only thing I've heard about it. I can't find anything on studentloans.gov about how to actually sign the MPN for Staffords. Does anybody know more than I do?

more information is supposed to be on the way with regards to the new "direct" procedures...protokurios wrote:In the Columbia finaid thread, someone wrote that because of the transition to Direct Loans, CLS extended the deadline to June 1...but that's about the only thing I've heard about it. Yea, it is a little confusing. Basically you can go to studentloans.gov and take the entrance counseling. Also, I think you can fill out the Master Promissory Notes for the Staffords (I am not sure about Grad Plus really)

Re: Columbia 2013
I got notification in my personal email, which is what I put in my housing app. Got a 3-bedroom share on 119th for $950/month, UAH, not law-specific. I specified non-law students as roommates, but I guess they couldn't do it.
Oh well. Still pretty stoked!
