I got in ED about 2 weeks ago, and it took me a while to get over the initial shock/rejoicing stage. Now I turn to TLS for advice on housing, financial aid and other "admitted student" matters. Is the consensus that Ivy Gardens, Jeffersonian Apartments is the optimal place for a 1L to live? Do you guys think it is better to live in one of places without a car, or a bit farther away from the law school with a car? Other than housing and financial matters, what are you guys doing leading upto law school?

Ivy and Jeffersonian are ideal, but that's becoming less useful information unless you're already on those waitlists.

Never too late to go on the waitlist. Might be too late to get off the waitlist.

I'm sure you can still jump on the lists, but based on the posters here it seems there may be an insurmountable number of people ahead of you for the Jeffersonian. I don't know about Ivy.

As the person in charge of assigning hosts...

a) YCRevolution, I don't even have you on the list of volunteers. Did you fill out the survey a while ago or just this week?
b) The vast majority of hosts for March were emailed yesterday about who they've been assigned and told to contact their admitted students soon. The admitted students will get emails in the next few days but I wanted to give the current students a chance to email me back if there was a problem.
c) Dgouzoul, assuming your username is fairly representative of your real name, I know for a fact you were assigned a host yesterday.
d) As of now we don't have a host for everyone in March but it's being worked on and will hopefully be worked out by the end of the week.

Well, if you join the Facebook group it'll tell them who you are. Also last year there were a few TLS get-togethers at the start of the semester, and I met a few TLSers doing those type of things. The folks who are on TLS that I can identify in RL now, I can do so because they made it easy enough for me to.

Assuming your name is equally easy to figure out, you also got assigned a host yesterday. You'll get an email with their contact info soon regardless of whether they email you first.
