While there may a be little seriousness in there, pretty sure it was all in good fun.wehman wrote:are all of you all really close with each other via the forum board and have frequented the TLS forums for a long time therefore comfortable enough to make comments about "how can you brag without your duke law email?", sort of as a joke (which I understand)

are you guys serious about the lay prestige and bragging? it all sounds really pretentious. i've always loved the idea of going to Duke. i'm from virginia and don't even want to apply to UVa because growing up here, there are so many pretentious douchers that go there. i just personally don't enjoy being around people who in social settings choose to flaunt their feathers instead of being modest.
really hoping you guys are just goofing around which i would definitely be doing with people i was cool with but otherwise it's kind of a bummer to see =/

You might get that a little with the undergrad but all of the law school students I have met have been really easy to be around. People on here are just messing around, I wouldn't worry about it.wehman wrote:are all of you all really close with each other via the forum board and have frequented the TLS forums for a long time therefore comfortable enough to make comments about "how can you brag without your duke law email?", sort of as a joke (which I understand)

yada yada yada Longhorns blah blah blah.......I think thick is driving up to NC, so no telling if alabama will be bragged on or not. Anyone else have a team worth bragging about? (Trick question, the only team worth bragging about is Texas)DallasCowboy wrote:I want Duke Law gear because I feel guilty wearing a plain Duke shirt. Foie gras is pretty damn delightful. If you haven't had it, put it on your to-do list--there's no better complement to a nice tenderloin. It probably won't be on the tour because it's somewhat expensive, but there's got to be some place in the Triangle that serves it.pelmen74 wrote:The foie gras was totally a joke, I don't think you have to worry about having to suffer through one of those popsicles. I'm sure the food is going to be really good.
@ DallasCowby: With a name like that you should be the last one complaining about the heat. 3 miles in 3 hours with frequent stops for food should not be too difficult to manage.

My first stop when I'm back in Durham will be Nosh. That have actual H&H Bagels flown in from New York!ela7117 wrote:I bet you'll go to locopops for the gourmet popsicle, and it's awesome. Right away he starts walking in circles frantically next to the tables just outside the door, steps from me. It was dark out and I sort of panicked - this guy seemed totally unstable and my sixth sense was screaming 'get the fock away from this dude NOW!'. He was circling fast like 1) Sht had totally hit the fan -and- 2) He was trying to get blood flowing to stay awake and keep working
He finally went back in the building after 5 mins or so. When I was walking back to my car in the Chem lot I saw him on a computer in the library (only one in there). Then it struck me - this guy must be one of the summer starters. If this is what happens after just a few weeks - OH.SHIT.
Haha, yeah that's probably all it was *pretending not to be nervous*.
