I got the health thing and orientation packet, and I just got today an application for tuition insurance in case of withdrawal due to injury or illness.

I hadn't even thought of that. I guess I just assumed if you got legitimately sick mid-term Cornell would work it out with you. Is anyone thinking about getting the insurance?Big Tuna wrote:I got the health thing and orientation packet, and I just got today an application for tuition insurance in case of withdrawal due to injury or illness.

Does everyone's Hughes (yes, I'm living there) letter say that move in starts at 9am on Saturday, August 21? Saturday is the 20th... so, am I going with Saturday or the 21st?
Edit: And just for clarification, the health insurance is opt-out, right? If I do nothing, I am signed up for Cornell SHIP, correct?

August 21st, 2010 is a saturday.
And yes, the health insurance is opt out (with limitations on how you can opt out), so if you do nothing you are enrolled in SHIP.

Dear LA kids,
Got to Catalina Island today. I don't see where you guys get off complaining about the heat. It's 70 degrees here. This place is awesome. A little touristy, but it beats the hell out of anything back home.

Well, yeah, Catalina's an island. The valley is where all the heat is.. Show up in Van Nuys on like a Wednesday at 3 PM and it'll be sweltering. Why'd you go to Catalina?vexion wrote:Dear LA kids,

Family reunion. I did forget about that "smog" thing y'all have. I could taste the air outside LAX. It was disconcerting.holybartender wrote:Well, yeah, Catalina's an island. You should have seen it ten years ago. It's relatively clean (outside of San Bernadino/Riverside) nowadays.vexion wrote:Family reunion. I did forget about that "smog" thing y'all have. For those interested, Cornell increased the bandwidth monthly cap for off-campus network traffic from 15GB per month to 20GB per month.

Hughes people:
we can stay in Hughes for the October break right? Seems like the housing contract only mentions Hughes being closed for some of the winter break.

Haha what does this mean? Do I have to let them know or are you just knocking my desire to stay in Ithaca for break?CyLaw wrote:If you REALLY want to, yes we can.calicocat wrote:Hughes people:
