Are we going to get our booklist around the same time we find out our section?

The booklist is already available, but pointless until we know which section (some classes have the same book no matter the section, others have different books per section)

Hmmm the bluebook 19th edition is selling for 170 and the 18th edition is selling for 20 dollars. anyone know if they are any different?

I think one of the lawyering profs has giant warnings on the book list about not buying the previous version.

At first I thought you made a typographic error when you wrote $170 for the Bluebook.

Then I found what you found online and I LOL'd. I'm not sure what is up with Amazon, but that is definitely not the price. The Bluebook costs something like $15-$30 new at the bookstore here, and I'm sure you if look again online you can find it similarly priced.

That being said: get the most recent edition. It hasn't changed that much [1], but it's worth the additional $10 or whatever to have the peace of mind that comes with possessing the correct rules :p

Oh, for some reason it's much cheaper on the link the professor recommended. It's only 30 there. Btw, if anyone is interested, the booklists for civil procedure and contracts are pretty uniform. Lawyering is too except the books seem to be missing for one of the professors.

Part of me hopes that the Amazon marketplace seller listing it for $170 just made a mistake with the ISBN. Then again people are selling iPads on there for $800 when you can pay it from Apple for $600. Would make sense if they were selling overseas, but the sellers list it as US sales only.

ESPN's is so much better than Yahoo's it's not even close. As far as time goes, Sunday would probably be best in the afternoon in my opinion. PM'ing you.

Just FYI ithaca car share is pretty great if you don't have a car, http://ithacacarshare.com/. There's a discount for cornell students (the membership is like $50/year), and honestly it's cheaper than actually owning a car.

They also have a pickup-truck if you ever need to haul stuff.

Your First Assignments, Small Section Meeting and Your “Flex”
First-year class section lists, first class assignments and room assignments for Tuesday’s small section meetings (see schedule for Tuesday, August 24 at 2:00 PM) are posted in the glass-enclosed bulletin board across from the Saperston Student Lounge in Myron Taylor Hall on the ground level.

Check out the bulletin board, and then proceed down the hall to your right. Every student has an individual mail folder (we call them “Flexes”) located on the left side of the hallway past the staircase. Locate your Flex.

Law School Registration/Photo
Report to the Foyer. To minimize lines, we ask that you arrive in the Foyer according to the following schedule:

I - P 10:00 - 10:30
Q - Z 11:00 - 11:30



In addition to checking you in, we will take your picture for our law school directory. Note - your picture will be available to all faculty and administrators and will later be available to employers who visit the law school. No need to dress up but please dress accordingly - no hats, t-shirts, etc.

University Registration
Once you have completed law school registration, proceed immediately to the Berger Atrium. Staff will be on hand to formally register you as a Cornell University student. Your course schedule, ID cards, book and coat locker assignments will be available.
