Former section 1er here -ConMan345 wrote:That could be cool. Apparently they call her "Mother Minow"---she really does seem rather motherly, no?
Minow was not our section leader last year. I never actually met her...or even saw her, actually.
I've also never heard her called "Mother Minow," but maybe I haven't met anyone who has been taught by her...

I'm 1/1A as well, looks like there are a lot of us around here!
Also, anyone else in Cambridge yet? Moving there this week myself.

Are y'all bringing printers to school? I know we'll get a ton of free printing, so I'm not sure if buying a printer (and then placing it into my painfully small room in Gropius) is worth it. Thoughts?

Re: Harvard Class of 2013
Very worth it. I'm actually going to look at my finances closer to the start of school to see if I can afford an expensive printer. You get a lot of free printing at the school, but its a pain in the ass when 1) everyone is trying to print 2) the printers are out of order 3) it's cold and you don't want to walk to the library 4) you forgot to print something and need to print it immediately.ali & ali wrote:Are y'all bringing printers to school? Objection, since you're so helpful.... do you have any idea when we find out what books our profs assigned? I'm hoping to order used copies online to save money. Is that doable? Or am I gonna be stuck waiting for my books to arrive after classes have already started?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Ha, guess I won't be too tough to spot in class - so much for anonymity...

Re: Harvard Class of 2013
Last year there was a leak that let us find out our classes earlier.
I'm trying to find a loophole now for my girlfriend who happens to be an incoming student.
If you go to the Harvard Law Coop site and go to Fall > First Year > # > TBA # (only 1 2 and 3 available) you can pull up books, but I can't figure out how to put them in a coherent order. If anyone can crack the code, post it up.
--LinkRemoved--
Edit: So, assuming the first # you select is the section, section 2 would have:
Civil Procedure
Contracts
Property
Torts
LRW
I don't know who the professors are, however.

Nice find! Are those lists 100% accurate? Don't want to buy books and then have them change.

I should have put a disclaimer: no idea of those are right or matched up to the right section or anything. Just trying to find a schedule loophole like last year!

Re: Harvard Class of 2013
Hey all,
Just wanted to pop in here and say hey to all the future Section 6-ers. Your faculty leader will be Jon Hanson (probably the best faculty leader at HLS, and I'm not just saying that as a former Section 6-er -- he really brings the section together.). According to e-mails we former Section-6ers have gotten recently, you guys will get "Big Siblings" before orientation -- aka former Section 6-ers who will be available to answer questions and generally navigate the interesting/wonderful/crazy HLS world.
Enjoy your time off until orientation!
