Quick question: are any of you planning on getting tickets to any sporting events? Does SMU give law students any kind of break of season tickets or anything?

Our ID cards should get us into everything free of charge. Just show up to stadium with your card and they'll scan it for entry.Burgstaller04 wrote:Quick question: are any of you planning on getting tickets to any sporting events? That is, if you're referring to SMU sporting events.

Apparently, the tailgate parties before football games are pretty fun, if you dig that sort of thing.

Since when is $40,000 a year "free of charge"?

Since that 40k goes straight to our professor's pockets...hahaha that sounded mean.kalvano wrote:mbusch22 wrote:Our ID cards should get us into everything free of charge. Actually, I see nicer cars and such in the student garage than in faculty parking.
There's a M-B SL-class a lot of mornings parked right by the entrance...those aren't cheap.

Not to mention the plethora of range rovers, BMWs, and the like. And I think someone drives a new porche convertible.kalvano wrote:Texasboundanddown wrote:Since that 40k goes straight to our professor's pockets...hahaha that sounded mean.

Holy balls assclown. Just because your giant Cadillac Escalade doesn't fit in a "Compact Car Only" spot doesn't mean you should take up two of them.

Does this also apply to us? The e-mail about the game today mentioned that all undergrad students have the sports package, but didn't say anything about grad students.mbusch22 wrote:Our ID cards should get us into everything free of charge. On the website, it says students who pay the maximum in student fees will be able to use the Health Center and receive the sports package.
I assume that, since law students can use the health center, they can also get admission to the games.

If it doesn't work, it's only $80 to add the sports package. If you plan on going to all the games, might be worth it.
Have fun "boulevarding".

LRW is an epic time sink. I know it is important to learn but this cannot possibly be the most effective way to do it.

If you didn't attend the Supreme Court "mooting" (and it seems most of you didn't), I highly recommend going to the one next week. It was truly fascinating.

I had to burn a vacation day in order to go, but it was worth it.
Added bonus: I got to sleep in

The event was a full house, they had to pull in some folding chairs.DavidB wrote:Is this it?Iconoclast wrote:+1kalvano wrote:If you didn't attend the Supreme Court "mooting" (and it seems most of you didn't), I highly recommend going to the one next week. It was truly fascinating.

I won't go so far as to say it was fascinating, but it was interesting and worth the trip.

What happened to the SMU class of 2010?
--LinkRemoved--
From just a cursory check of other years, it appears SMU hasn't fallen below the state-wide average since Feb 2001.
