They have housing days in June (17th) and July (8th?). Basically they load us onto a bus, show us the neighborhoods around the school, then give us a free lunch. The university-managed housing looks pretty good, cheap and within walking distance. I was pretty  to find out rent in St. Louis is significantly cheaper than in Nashville, plus the apartments are bigger.

Hey, if you are set on WUSTL, go to the TLS Class of 2013 thread and post that you're going to WUSTL so they'll add you to the list. I'm getting lonely on there...

oh yeah they told me this yesterday. and THEN a lot of the landlords station themselves on campus so you can do everything right there if you want.

Strato! Glad you're going to Wash U too. You're one of my favorite posters on here and I was kinda crossing my fingers that you'd pick WUSTL over Vandy. Sorry to hear you didn't get more from Vandy though, that sucks.

I'm 50% wash u. do you have a preference for me to go to some other school? or there? I could up or down my preference by 5% for you if you did....

Lol sibley... I'm glad I have that much sway over your decision. I feel honored!

Honestly, I 'd love for you to come to WUSTL. I know I like to give you a hard time because of the whole G'town thing, but you seem to be a pretty nice person and you've rolled with the punches even after that whole debacle. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit!

Plus, if you are really as crazy as people say you are, you can help set the curve low :D (kidding, kidding)

lol thanks. I appreciate that! I'm so worried about the curves... did you know at wustl a 70 is an f? it is. but that means if you get like an 89 average you look super impressive to jobs even though you kinda aren't.

Much appreciated romo, I brove you too  I was a bit pissed about it initially, but I'm looking forward to an adventure somewhere else. Almost everyone I know is leaving Nashville after this year anyway, so maybe I'd rather be among new people in a new place than have the awkwardness of familiar places and unfamiliar people. If TLS and the ASW I went to are accurate indicators, CO2013 is going to be a good bunch.

For the record, I didn't think it was as nuts as most evidently did. The incident's fun to joke about, but getting rejected based on academic credentials hurts when you're not used to it. Each T14 WL was like a little dagger :x 0.09%'s based on the remote possibility Duke or Michigan comes crawling to me this summer and agrees to give me a pittance to attend. 0.01% of it's based on the theoretical possibility that a Columbia adcomm could make a grievous mistake.

I emailed gtown and asked straightout if it had to do with my disability. you should see the email I got back. the dean responded but all he said was "your decision stands." aka... yes. now I'm ruling out dc anyway though... anything out of ny is toooo far. washu's a huge challenge to me right now.

Undoubtedly. Which ASW were you at?

Looks like you and I had very similar cycles, despite the difference in numbers. Congrats, you definitely have some good options!

Feb 26th. Very true, seems like there really is a balance between GPA and LSAT for adcomms, like some sort of yin/yang thing... and we evidently fall on diametrically opposite sides of that balance for T20 schools.

Very interesting response... you should respond with several TLS links that detail exactly why GTTTown's the reason the T13 is catching on, and maybe a few that include opinions on diploma mills.

But then how will we get to Georgetown from the Rosslyn metro station?

50% yesterday, submitted deposit.

Here's my issue:
I want a major city like NYC/DC/West Coast.
I didn't apply to C.ornell simply because of this reason. If I go to WashU I basically should be going to C.ornell, which is tons closer to my bf and family.

You can't change what you can't change. (Or you can wait one year...) I had no idea I would do as well as I have done this cycle and have places that I wish I would have applied...that are ideal for my interests. But there is nothing I can do about that now. WashU places very well in the east (not the west so much)...go there, commit to doing well, and use their amazing resources and amazing career center to help you get where you want in the end.

Or go to Cardozo and be near the bf, and be happy with it, knowing that having him close was more important than school ranking. That IS an OK choice!

At this point in the game, don't fret over where you didn't apply, because you cannot change it. Look at your options, and decide what is more important. You have some GREAT choices!
