Really, the password the gave me has capitalized letters, random exclamation points and I only know it because I emailed it to myself and have to go find that email and copy and paste when I need to log in.

I just changed all of my passwords in life to my SIS password because that is actually a simpler solution than trying to change your SIS password.

I tried to fill out my financial aid info last night and found the site and supporting information infuriating

I was a little confused about the parental assets section. I am 28 and was under the assumption that under the new guidelines I wouldn't be asked for any of my parent's financial info. I did check the box that said I wished to be considered for both federal aid and university scholarships and was wondering if this is why the parental assets section showed up. Can anyone speak to this?

Seriously. How do I change my password?

If it's set up like last year, you ... don't.

You're supposed to be given a basic "applicant" account which you can only use to input financial aid information and pay seat deposits. You can't even change the password. After you've deposited twice and committed to attending they give you your new "student" account which you can edit and alter more easily.

The fact that someone managed to make an E-mail account already is very odd.

Edit: I think you need to have paid at least one deposit to request the email since it won't let me.

I haven't figured out how to change the SIS password but to change your email password (assuming you set up your xxx@virginia.edu email with GMAIL) log into your email and reset your password through the gmail interface by going to account settings or similar.

You'll get information on your permanent login shortly before orientation. It's definitely not going to come until after the first deposit deadline at least.

It's more likely that they didn't update the form. You may want to contact the finaid office.

Yeah, that's definitely new for this year. Last year we had to wait until we got our actual student IDs to do that.

It sounds like it. They don't give out temporary UVA E-mails.

Ok friends, here's how I gots mah email...

1.) go to SIS page (https://sisuva.admin.virginia.edu/psp/e ... PAPP_GUEST)
2.) Up at the top click on UVA email
3.) I clicked UVa Gmail
4.) and clicked on an expired test of some sort.
5.) just skip all the reading and go to the test...its about email common sense, don't open random files you get emailed, dont share password, etc.
6.) After that I don't remember but you got into UVa law so I'm sure you got it from here

I went ahead and added aliases for my name for the email.virginia.edu domain. I also set up my Thunderbird for UVA Gmail email. This means you can have POP (or SMTP) UVA email which lets you use email clients and should allow you to look up your mail on your Crackberry

I did this and it worked. You may have to download a gmail app on your blackberry.

This is one deposit not both. I have only paid one so far and I have my email.
