I watched the bball game against Wake today and the shots from outside looked like the north pole or something. I was impressed that there still seemed to be a pretty good crowd turnout.

The first thing I did when I got my UVA email was join the UVA Facebook network.

I'm dying to join that group but can't because of the coworker thing that was discussed here awhile back. I've been thinking about dropping my coworkers from my friends list so that I can. If you drop someone from your list, do they receive a notification? I would doubt it, but I rarely use the site and am not to familiar with the protocols.

ay. Charlottesville was noted as being especially hard hit on NPR today.

To give you an idea of how bad it is, I went out today and passed a stop sign that was so buried in snow you could only see the top half of the sign part.

It's not like that everywhere, but it accumulates in places. I'm glad I have a condo association that pays someone to shovel the way out, otherwise I'd be trapped in here.

Is this snowstorm worse than the one that hit the week after exams?

Seems like less snow plus their response has been wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. Roads are already cleared and all.

u do realize that you can hide your groups from others to make it only that you can see your own groups? i dn't think there is a need to drop people...

Please let me know if you figure out a way to join the group discreetly. I'm thinking there's some way to do it with privacy settings, but fbook keeps changing their format, I can't keep up with it anymore.

So far, I've received 2 emails, one email when the school closed on Thursday and another about Crime awareness on campus. You shoudl be able to set it up when you get your SIS ID and your computing ID.

I'm not sure if paying is required. I did pay my first deposit (not my second) and I got my SIS ID and comp ID just like many people did on this thread. I messed around in the Student Portal(?) and admitted student site and figured out how to create my email. It was pretty easy.

If it's set up like last year, you ... don't.

You're supposed to be given a basic "applicant" account which you can only use to input financial aid information and pay seat deposits. You can't even change the password. After you've deposited twice and committed to attending they give you your new "student" account which you can edit and alter more easily.

Really, the password the gave me has capitalized letters, random exclamation points and I only know it because I emailed it to myself and have to go find that email and copy and paste when I need to log in.

Edit: I think you need to have paid at least one deposit to request the email since it won't let me.
