This weather sucks. I'm 350 miles from Mexico and it's snowed about 2' so far this year. We also have events called "freezing drizzle" and "freezing fog."

Nice win over UNC tonight. Things must be tense in a bit tense Chapel Hill right about now.

As a life-long TN resident, I encountered freezing fog for the first time during this recent winter storm. Needless to say, when the weather guy said freezing fog I thought it was a joke.

It looks like I'll be here when Charlottesville's all-time (since 1881) snow in single season record gets shattered on Saturday. The current record is 54.7 inches from '95-'96. We only need 18.3 inches sometime during the remainder of this season to reach the record. We're supposed to get 28 inches this weekend (starting Friday morning).

I'll be here too. I went to the grocery store to stock up and make sure I'd have food for the weekend since I'll be snowed in the whole time... and almost didn't make it out alive. It was chaos and panic in there like I've never seen before.

Dear C/O 2013, please don't let all this discourage you, it's a once-per-century event and thus we're taking the bullet so you don't have to.

The real trick is whether the snow shovel I ordered from Amazon is going to show up tomorrow. It's being overnighted and is scheduled for delivery on Friday, but it's either going to get delivered in the morning or not at all.

That's what it looked like when I was there. There were more bodies then, but I see people have removed them too because of their value as a food source.

CVS was actually quite reasonable. Only milk was gone, and there was no line (except at the pharmacy, which was slammed) as of ~10 pm. They cashiers were complaining about having to stay in hotels... I guess CVS is committed to being open during the SNOWMAGEDDON

They're probably staying in that hotel on Millmont since it's walking distance and that way nobody has to drive to/from work. Wow, that's real commitment from CVS, that doesn't seem like the cheapest hotel.

The employees should just enjoy it and start ordering room service like crazy.

My biggest concern is if utilities go down. Like, the difference between 1.5 feet and 2.5 feet isn't huge in terms of the headache unless it takes out power. Once something major goes down, it could get... interesting.
