Why ask people on a forum when you can just the management for this information? The folks at the Jeffersonian responded to my request for analogous information very quickly.

They're not even competent when it's not snowing. The Albermarle County schools have been closed so far this week (and given the 6 inches that could fall today/tonight, and then more snow on the weekend, they might be closed for a long while).

Hopefully the Jeffersonian lets me in then...

I thought clerkship placement and temperate weather were the two things that differentiated UVA from Michigan.

I was lied to.

From what I can tell UVA's not really that balmy. I took a look at weather.com's historical monthly averages, and it's almost the same as the NYC region. It's ~ 5 degrees warmer in the winter, and that's about it.

You could still be correct if next winter's weather is not independent of this winter's weather.

I guess I don't know enough about the weather to be able to confirm/disconfirm that.

This weather sucks. I'm 350 miles from Mexico and it's snowed about 2' so far this year. We also have events called "freezing drizzle" and "freezing fog."

Nice win over UNC tonight. Things must be tense in a bit tense Chapel Hill right about now.

Got the email about the open house. The travel stipend sucks for me though. I live less than 2 miles from the DC boarder, but I get nothing and they get $100.

True, but it seems insignificant compared to total cost of attending, especially compared to other state schools that give $10K+ off per year for in state.

Don't worry though, my complaints are nit picking and I have it in perspective. I just wanted to complain about something I guess.

As a life-long TN resident, I encountered freezing fog for the first time during this recent winter storm. Needless to say, when the weather guy said freezing fog I thought it was a joke.

$15K of more than $130K... yeah, seems pretty small.

Anyway, I was more joking, but really, living 2 minutes from those getting a stipend does seem a bit odd. They have to draw the line somewhere.

You know, UVA law school tuition was about 10k at one point for instate. I wish I graduated about 10 years ago. UVA would have been a very good deal.

it seems like ivy gardens is much farther from the law school than a bunch of other complexes, why is ivy so popular for UVA law students on this board?
