Re: Michigan Class of 2013
Posted this on the Mich students taking questions thread, but just in case anyone here knows:
I'm wondering about the winter recess- is this a real break? The academic calendar (http://www.law.umich.edu/curriculum/Pages/acadcal.aspx) lists a break from Feb 26 to March 7. Do people really take this as a break, or is this mostly filled with studying? My partner lives abroad so I have a lot of international travel planning to do, and wondering if I can count on this as a time when I can go see him or not.

Re: Michigan Class of 2013
Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Unfortunately, he passed away not too long after my last post. It was really hard.
However, this week all my friends chipped in and bought be a champion black shiba inu (the rarest kind). Although I felt it was a little too soon, I did want to bring back a real japanese shiba to the states, and it's probably better to starting training over this summer than in the middle of the first semester when I won't have time to eat myself, nevermind train a dog. Also, he is stunningly beautiful.
In Mich related news any summer starters here? I want details so I can live vicariously through you! I am getting more and more pumped each day for A2!

I can't tell if those of you who posted saying you got singles but were curious about having a roommate actually wanted the double suite... If so, I would much prefer to trade my double for your single (even if economy)! I don't know if this is even possible, but let me know if anyone is interested...

Did anyone who faxed in the LC lease get confirmation on it? I faxed mine in today and am wondering whether I should be looking out for a confirmation email.

Wolver, I had a lease for an economy single and turned it down, so there should be at least one opening up (I waited until the deadline to decide as I wasn't sure about my decision to live off-campus).Wolverhoo wrote:I can't tell if those of you who posted saying you got singles but were curious about having a roommate actually wanted the double suite... Def, so sorry to hear about your dog. I'm sure he'd be happy you have a new dog homie- we expect your 'tar to become a pic of the pup soon.

I got a confirmation within minutes. I would call if you don't get anything by tomorrow.ohmy212 wrote:I got a confimation email the same day that I emailed my signed lease in.goodolgil wrote:Did anyone who faxed in the LC lease get confirmation on it? Re: Michigan Class of 2013
Am I interpreting this description correctly? Seems like quite a bizarre design, but my other iterations yielded even more unlikely results. Any insight would be appreciated.Shlonster wrote:For anyone who is wondering about LC rooms, here is the tiny tidbit I got....
The room is “L” shaped with the larger segment of the “L” measuring 13 x 14’ and the shorter leg of the “L” measuring 3’ x 9’ (this is often where student tuck their desk).
Mine is on the first floor, which is both a good and bad thing.

I faxed mine over and got no email. I called a few days later and they confirmed that my lease was received. Maybe they just respond if you email it

Are all of them like this? I called and my single does not have these dimensions.cutiewiddlebebe wrote:Am I interpreting this description correctly? I still haven't gotten confirmation so I sent in a scanned copy as well a few hours ago. Haven't heard yet; I guess I'll call tomorrow if still no word.doinmybest wrote:I got a confirmation within minutes. So, how was your first week, summer starters?
(Also, FYI: student football tickets go on sale tomorrow. You can read about how to order on the Admitted Student site -> Orientation -> Ordering Football Tickets.)

Would also purchase if anyone doesn't like football. My wife's pissed that Penn State, OSU, and Notre Dame are away games this year, but would still be bummed if she missed out.

Re: Michigan Class of 2013
I'm travelling out of the country right now, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to buy/sell them. I'll be on a bus all day tomorrow, but if I have internet the next day I'll look into it. Hopefully it's not a first come first serve deal (I'd check the website but the internet here is expensive) PM me if you wanna talk about it.JRMjr wrote:anyone that wants to sell theirs (because they wont use them) I'm buying...

It looks like we can only buy tickets from June 7 through June 25, or is that just the first wave? If I buy tickets I'll probably sell all except a couple, but I'm hesitant to drop the $200 since I'm not working anymore.
Haha, it looks like I'll be in Ohio (though not Columbus) for the OSU game. That'll be fun, especially since at least one of my cousins up there is naturally an Ohio fan.

Yeah I'll be ordering them online as well, though I doubt I'll end up using more than half. Is it difficult to sell tickets for a game if I decide not to go? Is there a standard way (forum perhaps) to do this?thalassocrat wrote:It looks like we can only buy tickets from June 7 through June 25, or is that just the first wave? Has anyone created a seating group or know if the law school has one already? If so, what's the name of it/password?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
