Re: Boston College Law School - 2013
I'm leaning towards BC. Can someone explain why they chose BC? I'd like to hear other applicant's reasons for choosing the school.
Thanks.

For me it was its long prestigious history in Boston coupled with their strong NLJ250 and federal clerkship placement.Informative wrote:I'm leaning towards BC. Can someone explain why they chose BC? I'd like to hear other applicant's reasons for choosing the school.

My very generous scholarship offer was guaranteed for all three years- no GPA requirement.billy mitchell wrote:Anybody know the renewal requirement for scholarships?

Has anyone starting looking for housing yet in the Newton area? I'm searching from CA which is proving to be a bit of a challenge.

Newton or Brighton seem to be popular spots.

I highly recommend cleveland circle especially if you don't have a car. All the green lines converge there.caligirl07 wrote:Has anyone starting looking for housing yet in the Newton area? I'm searching from CA which is proving to be a bit of a challenge.

What about living in Allston to get both the city and the campus "feel"?

Ah the old Allston v. Brighton debates. The general rule is: Brighton and Allston are pretty much the same, except Allston has rats and Brighton has mice. Therefore, Cleveland Circle/Brighton are the best bets. If you can pay for it, I highly recommend Brookline.tram988 wrote:What about living in Allston to get both the city and the campus "feel"?

Thanks man. I'm going to try and get to Boston within a few weeks and check out a few places in different locations. I'm worried about one thing-- While I was living downtown on Boylston St. it was pretty good, however, come night the streets turned into party central. Will this surely happen in Allston on Comm Ave? I'll need at least some sleep lol.sullidop wrote:Ah the old Allston v. Brighton debates. Yes that happens in Allston. It happens less in the Cleveland circle area near the Englewood (C)/southerland (b) T stop

Does anyone want to start a Facebook page for our entering class? My tour guide said they did that and it was very helpful...help with housing, materials, etc., etc.
Thoughts?

OK, this place needs more action. Is nobody going to BC? I am wavering, but put down my deposit.

nowinGA, I completely agree. Where are all the BC-ers? I was in the same boat re: deposit/wavering, but I think I've pretty much made up my mind...

You'll see a lot more action here in a couple of weeks when kids start getting pulled off wait lists or give up hope on said wait lists.dc_lady225 wrote:nowinGA, I completely agree. Hey all,
I had deposited at Hastings at their deadline but got the acceptance and scholly offer from BC the next day... a little irked but willing to let that money go and will almost certainly be at BC in August. Probably visiting from California end of June and interested to hear what your housing plans are!

I don't really know if I believe in the notion of "soft reject", but since I was fully expecting to get rejected by BC (2.7, 170), the fact that I was waitlisted has me curious. Do schools even do soft rejects this late in the cycle? I sent in a LOCI and the waitlist form, but I don't know if I should be holding my breath. I would love to get in, but I don't want to ride this out into July if there isn't a lot of hope. Any thoughts would be great, especially from those on the WL or who have already been accepted. Thanks.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
