The head of a small firm that I worked with promised to help 'introducing' me to some biglaw attorneys. The other day he said a bigname partner at a vault 15 would like to set up a time to talk with me when he comes back from Europe in January.
wanna share your experience talking to partners in settings other than formal interviews/ career fairs? did you treat it as an interview of some sort?

Agreed. Treat this as part 1 of an ongoing relationship. If he likes you, the interview will come later.gollymolly wrote:I have no experience with this, so take my suggestion for what it's worth. I think you should treat it as though you're going to meet someone who is very accomplished in his career and has no interest in hiring you. So come prepared to (1) have a normal social conversation with him and (2) ask him questions about his career, tips, etc.
If he transitions it to more of an interview, then awesome, follow his lead.
