Latham (DC) v. O'Melveny (DC)
Worried about Latham's laying off of first-years, obviously, but leaning that way because the firm has more practice areas that interest me, and I loved everyone I met. Thoughts? Any info as to SA 2009 offer rates for OMM (DC)? ATL was incoherent on this and I get so sick of reading the comments.
To the above poster, do you have a NYC or DC preference?

Re: Which firm? Need HELP!
Friends + family + lower COL make me lean towards DC... but I really liked everyone at GDC and everything I've been reading about the firm (conservatively run, "good QOL", etc).
Seems like you're in a tough spot as well. I wouldn't take Latham just based on everything that has happened so far, but I don't know anything about the firm beyond what I've read on ATL and heard from people. On NALP it also looks like OMM has a lot of variety in practice areas as well...

Criteria: Just want the best firm...I do not have a practice area pref. yet. I liked Latham the best but obviously know what happened.Anonymous User wrote:Latham (dc) v. Paul Hastings (dc) v. Fried Frank (dc) v. Schulte (NY)

Re: Which firm? Need HELP!
I interviewed at FF DC. Found the firm to be VERY focused on corporate/transactional. Hit or miss with the interviews. Had one REALLY awkward associate. Liked Latham much better. No idea on Paul Hastings or Schulte.
