hmm. so what happens if you're an above-median t14er who hasn't gotten a single callback 3 days after the job fair has ended? do you die?

job fair that's only for my school, and it's the school's largest single recruiting/interviewing event, so it's like OCI, but it happens to be off campus.

I was told by several firms that if you were interviewing in NYC then it would be faster than if you were interviewing in other cities. (this was for a primarily NYC OCI and all the interviewers were from NYC) They said not to panic if you hadn't heard in a couple of days if you were picking a market that your interviewers weren't from since it takes longer.

So, that could be a factor. That's what I'm holding onto at least.

also, are your callbacks usually by phone, or also by email?

Interviewing in Chicago. I was told by big national firms that they weren't calling anyone until late August, when they've finished doing all OCIs. The NY offices are already calling people though. Maybe "late August" is just code for "We're not calling you back."

as far as I'm concerned, firms can wait until october to do callbacks. the longer they wait, assuming the economy continues to remain stable/improve, the more deal activity there will be and the more optimistic their projections will get.
