1) Can anyone recommend me good summer suits? light, good air circulation, etc
2) How many suits & shirts do you recommend for a 8 week SA gig? I have to probably walk/subway a whole lot. I'm 230lbs and predicting I'll sweat quite a bit.

You sure you'll need suits? Just as a precautionary tale, you may want to ask what summer dress at the office is. I was expecting to (and was excited about) buy a bunch of suits for my SA gig but was told that summer dress is shirt w/ slacks

. I'll still buy suits though . . . I just love 'em.

I feel ya, this describes me perfectly (although I've been dieting and I'm now down to about 220). I still sweat like mad though, and despite my love for suits, I'm not looking forward to wearing one in St. Louis in August.

230lbs 6 ft tall here; I blame it on HS football. I just try to make myself feel better by remembering how much i used to weigh - 265lbs.

Yeah I'm 6ft 220. I wish I could blame it on football, but we all know it was the combination of too much Natty Light freshman year and my inherent laziness.

But I have lost about 10-12 pounds in the past 4-5 weeks or so, so I'm moving in the right direction.

ModerTailor shirts are terrible quality. Jesus fuck. The thing wrinkles to hell in 5 minutes. I felt like I was wearing a piece of paper. That's their alleged $70/shirt material too.

So I wore my Oxxford suit out this past weekend for the first time. GREAT SUIT! I highly recommend Oxxford to anyone. Make sure to get it altered.

I know this was probably covered earlier in the thread, but I'm kinda drunk and super lazy.

Anyone have suggestions for skinny dudes? I always look like I'm wearing one of those sideline jackets over shoulder pads. I'm 5'11" 155 for what it's worth.

You and I are similar sizes. Buy a 41R and get it altered. Alteration is the key to looking sharp in a suit.

Yeah. Looks like they have pretty good reviews too. But you may be able to find something closer/cheaper on yelp.

I'd get quality stuff on eBay, its what I have always done, and it has never burned me.

I don't go to a whole lot of formal events (about 1 a year for about the last 5) but I'm wondering if it might be worth getting a nicely tailored tux so long as it isn't ridiculously expensive. I figure it cuts out the $50-$100 plus three trips to the rental place for every time I'd have to rent one, with the added benefit of looking better and being more comfortable than a rental ever would be.

Does anyone here own their own tuxedo? Is it a good idea or what?

Need a new suit, but I love to be uber conservative. I've got two solid navy suits and three solid grey/charcoal suit. I only have two or three non-solid suits. Now taking suggestions. No checkered bullshit.
