If they can't reach you by phone, they will email you to have you call them back.

There are THREE possible start dates and you won't know which day you start until you are assigned a firm:

May 20
May 28 (because 27 is a holiday)
June 3

Can you request a specific start date if you have commitments that you are legitimately unable to get out of?

Has anyone been accepted without a recommendation letter on file?

Official transcript - no. Submitted unofficial pdf/screenshot for the initial application deadline a while back.

As a person with a standing commitment, I have spoken to persons with knowledge of this question and was told that being granted a specific date is up to the firm's discretion. If you are a candidate the committee deems fitting for the program, your resume will then be shopped around to see if any firm would be willing to take you at that requested date. Because of the multiple layers involved, it's really hard to say.

For what its worth, i deposited at a T5 and I have had 2 interviews, standing commitment notwithstanding.

Asker here -- You, sir / madam, are my hero. I didn't send an official transcript and was stressed out when I was reading last year's threads.

For me: Acceptance call, 2 days later an acceptance email with ~2days to accept or reject offer. Accept offer, 1-2days later get a confirmation email. Then begins a string of about 3 emails (maybe one every 5 days? every week?) about getting the required book, online training details, need to reformat resume, send passport pic (not necessarily in that order). Hope this helps

Was told this as well, except did not know about May 28th. (NYC internship). Also told that orientation is May 31st and June 1st. This info is also posted on the SEO website (key dates page)!

I called to find out when they are planning on closing out the law class (I'm still waiting) and was told by the end of next week. Though the person I spoke with did emphasize they do not have a specific end date for decisions. Hope that helps.

Yes, I guess so. I only stated what I was told on the phone. I did not want to give a firm date in my post because I don't want to misinform anyone.

Not to be a dick but dude, it seems like it's a soft date and they're trying to get it all done by next week. 5/10 is the end of next week. Knowing whether it's firmly set for that Friday will do absolutely nothing to help you.

I'm not a dude. I was trying to put a date to his / her words.

I think people should keep in mind that they are likely waiting for new admits to accept/reject. Who knows what the yield is but I bet there are some who turn down the SEO offer. So I think it makes sense to keep hope alive because a) there might be more open spots left period b) if there aren't, a small # of people might reject, thereby opening up spots or just adding to the existing # of open spots. That makes it easier to understand their timeline- more rejections aren't out yet until they get a firm yes/no from more admits.

Keep hope alive! Rooting for you all still waiting

looks like i won't be getting in. I had graduation last week and couldnt do the second interview for date that was available (besides it was less than 24 hours notice for them). Called to ask if any more slots would open up and that I was still interested and they said more should open up this week and they would contact me again if none did. I think they may still contact me, but its just so late in the SEO cycle that I just don't see it working out in my favor.
