Paul Hastings v. Covington

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 24, 2024 9:12 am

I am looking at litigation in NY between these two firms. Covington feels like a more old school name for lit but their presence in New York seems weak. Paul Hastings feels more corporate focused, but their New York presence is stronger and it's been growing. Any thoughts on comparing the two?

I know nothing of Covington NY, but have worked with Paul Hastings lit folks in NY and have only good things to say. There might be a difference between the courtroom lit and investigations "lit" teams (I have more experience with the latter) but I don't know.

Up to you whether it's good for bad, but Covington's cross-office philosophy is real. I'm in lit and every single one of my matters is cross-office (and bi-coastal).

That may be true but different office gets different types of matters/deals. Better to go to a headquarter or pseudo-headquarter.
