SullCrom (DC) or Kirkland (DC)

Post by aree9823 » Fri Aug 09, 2024 11:15 am

I'm interested in doing litigation, but not sure 100% which type of litigation I want to pursue. I also plan on clerking (most likely after a year or two of firm work) and, depending on how things go, re-recruiting afterwards.

Interested in learning what folks have to say about the reputations of these two offices and which office might be best for me.

More people are going to vote for S&C on the poll because most people on this forum work in NY biglaw and thus have a limited point of reference.

If these are your only two options, and you're interested in appellate or GCL, the obvious answer here is Kirkland and it's not close.

Edit: Unless you're getting recruited into the appeals/SC group at S&C DC by a person of influence and your goal is appellate. But then you wouldn't be asking this question here.

Kirkland is Band 1 for commercial lit in DC. SullCrom is Band 4. https://chambers.com/legal-rankings/lit ... 51:12246:1

Meaningless Vault rankings are probably affecting the poll results here.
