Wilkinson Stekloff DC v NYC

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Aug 07, 2024 10:04 am

Looking into WS and have noticed that some key partners are in the DC office. So I have a few questions if anyone has inside info.

1) Can anyone speak to the differences between the DC and NYC office. Do they handle different work? I'm interested in their antitrust and commercial work the most (as opposed to mass torts). Are the partners similarly high caliber? For example, if Beth spends her time in DC, would it be worthwhile to join the NYC office?

2) Can anyone speak to the level of brief-writing/trial opportunities for associates? I imagine given the lean teams that they function similarly to other boutiques but I don't have first-hand knowledge.

Thanks

The NYC office is significantly smaller than and kind of auxiliary to the DC office, so attorneys from the NYC office regularly travel to the DC office. There are no formal practice areas, and there is no difference in staffing assignments or who you will work with based on the office you work from. All of the teams are staffed across offices. The nature of the work requires frequent travel, so even if you're not in the same office as someone on your case team, you'll work with them in person during witness prep, depositions, trial, etc.
