What are big law firms' approach to associates that did not get the h1b this year?

Latham is very good about relocating to London / Singapore offices.

Maybe it changed last year, but grads of Class of 2022 got canned (in 2023) if they didn't get individual offers from overseas offices to relocate.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 7:25 amLatham is very good about relocating to London / Singapore offices.

Can we have some more visibility on this? Especially from people in 2024 year. Prior years, a lot of firms were good (except for 2023) but not hearing much (good or bad) for this year.

From what I heard, PH and Ropes & Gray laid off. QE relocates if you get a separate offer from an international office. STB, Covington, Vincent & Elkins relocated. DPW and S&C relocated in previous years, not sure about this year. Cleary laid off in previous years, also not sure about this year.

Re: H1B Policy 2024
Heard about DPW relocating at least 1 person this year. Not sure about firm-wide policy.
Also, heard that Summer 2026 offerees at DPW are being told upfront that DPW will not relocate them. Not sure how this will affect the years in-between.
