for those lowly mortals of us who have real grades, there's supposedly a requirement to maintain a 3.5Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 11:07 amgot an offer. grades are decent. at one of HYS. probably median. high grades are in seminars, not black letters.

Don't think a real cut off exists - at SCH and have friends doing lit at GDC that finished well below median and kept their offers.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 11:07 amgot an offer. grades are decent. at one of HYS. probably median. high grades are in seminars, not black letters.

Re: what is the actual story on GDC yanking offers due to grades?
I didn't hear of them pulling offers/ not getting return offers from anyone in my class at GDC DC and I have to assume that there was at least a couple of folks who had a downward trend from 1 to 2L. For an HLS datapint, I went from 6Hs / 4Ps 1L to 5Hs and 3Ps in 2L, but two of my Hs were from seminars and all my Ps were blackletter. There never seemed to be any indication that my 1L-2L grades were a factor in a return offer.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 4:34 pmYes and yesAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 1:14 pmwhat is SCH? stanford chicago harvard?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 12:30 pmDon't think a real cut off exists - at SCH and have friends doing lit at GDC that finished well below median and kept their offers.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 11:07 amgot an offer. grades are decent. at one of HYS. probably median. high grades are in seminars, not black letters.

I didn't accept, so I cannot say if they check in again after graduation, but I would guess you'd probably have to do like straight Ps or worse for 3L grades to come into consideration at all.
Grade cutoff at H for GDC is half Hs, but the DC office is more competitive and the partner seemed to imply that you probably need 6/10 Hs during 1L to make the threshold cut. The partner that told me this didn't seem to discriminate between seminars/courses or by credit hour. They just look at the transcript and see if Hs and Ps matchup or not.

at S, 25% Hs is enough for GDC new yorkLaserguy213 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 6:13 pmI didn't hear of them pulling offers/ not getting return offers from anyone in my class at GDC DC and I have to assume that there was at least a couple of folks who had a downward trend from 1 to 2L. Re: what is the actual story on GDC yanking offers due to grades?
honestly i'm at S, have an offer for GDC DC (half Hs) but as I take harder classes in 2l and 3l (admin, fed courts), I can see this dropping to 25% Hs. I dont want to avoid difficult classes just because of this...Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 9:58 amat S, 25% Hs is enough for GDC new yorkLaserguy213 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 6:13 pmI didn't hear of them pulling offers/ not getting return offers from anyone in my class at GDC DC and I have to assume that there was at least a couple of folks who had a downward trend from 1 to 2L. What you learn in law school doesn't matter at all. Take the easiest classes possible and enjoy the best two years of your life before the worst decade or so (depending on how long you stay).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 10:34 amhonestly i'm at S, have an offer for GDC DC (half Hs) but as I take harder classes in 2l and 3l (admin, fed courts), I can see this dropping to 25% Hs.
