I would be doing a mix of M&A and cap markets at Skadden London vs doing a NY/London split next summer at Cravath and asking to do my first 2-year rotation in London cap markets. I can see myself being in London or NY long term, though London is more convenient for personal reasons. not sure yet about which transactional area I'm most interested in.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice, tips, or insights re: the differences between firms or things I should be thinking about. Thank you!

Re: Cravath (NY) vs Skadden (London)
Pretty sure this is a pretty easy choice for Skadden. Will give you more flexibility and our London team is great. Our international presence is much more established and they do actual deal work at Skadden LON, it won't be all CapM and high yield finance is boring af.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 2:01 amI would be doing a mix of M&A and cap markets at Skadden London vs doing a NY/London split next summer at Cravath and asking to do my first 2-year rotation in London cap markets. Re: Cravath (NY) vs Skadden (London)
If you see yourself London long-term or even just wanting to keep the London door more open down the road (for example, an inter-office transfer), Skadden is definitely the one to take over Cravath in this scenario. I've worked for both firms (albeit in New York), and from what I could tell Skadden's London practice is better and in my experience much more integrated with the rest of the firm. Knew several people who transferred between London and NY in corporate, for example.
