Junior partner comp/timeline (S&C, PW, DPW, etc.)
Does anyone know what the compensation looks like for a first year partner at firms like sull crom, PW, DPW, etc.? In a large corporate group to the extent relevant.
Also any idea on partnership timeline at these places?

Re: Junior partner comp/timeline (S&C, PW, DPW, etc.)
No idea abt comp but partnership timing is going to differ based on firm. S&C + DPW both still do 8 year runway. S&C doesn't really use "of counsel" role as NEP-esque waiting ground, DPW seems to do so a little more. Isn't S&C's "special counsel" position an NEP-esque waiting ground for some lawyers?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 1:34 pmNo idea abt comp but partnership timing is going to differ based on firm. I’m at S&C and I’ve seen quite a few instances where it has been used as a waiting ground, whether for 1-2 years or for 6+ years (but I might be wrong).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 1:15 amAFAIK its only used for post-gov hiresAnonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 1:04 amIsn't S&C's "special counsel" position an NEP-esque waiting ground for some lawyers?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 1:34 pmNo idea abt comp but partnership timing is going to differ based on firm. Otherwise, special counsels rarely make partner.
The model is still predominantly 8-year partnership.
All firms have special counsels. They are different from NSPs.

any comp figures for junior partners? also, do you know if S&C is still modified lockstep? someone else on another thread was saying it's EWYK (and that it's always been like that?).
