Federal Agencies in Boston?

Post by cambriabold » Sun Jan 22, 2023 11:15 am

Anyone have intel on what the federal agency scene in Boston looks like? I'm a junior in BL looking to make an exit around year 3, and I'm curious which agencies have a big presence in Boston/how often they hire/what kind of lawyers they usually hire.

I'm a fed not in Boston. The federal employment market is massive, so I don't need to be an expert on Boston to say something about this. Just scour the USAjobs postings for everything that pops up in Boston. A young biglaw refugee is usually going to be pretty competitive to get a shot at the U.S. Attorney's Office, so there's that. If you have any experience in employment law cases, consider the local EEOC office. Many other federal agencies are so niche-focused that no one ever has experience in their practice areas before joining them, so you will be of interest to them if you're just a smart gal or guy.
