Recruiter Ghosted?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:26 am

I was contacted by a recruiter. We discussed the job, but as I had recently switched firms, I was not looking.
Fast forward, I entered into the market and reconnected with him. After a coffee meeting, he asked for me to send him my transcript and resume. He also told me that the process would be a little longer than normal because of the market. However, he thought that I would be a good candidate. After I sent my transcript and resume, it has been radio silence (approximately two weeks). I haven't even received a confirmation message regarding the received materials. Is this normal or have I been ghosted?

Eh, it can be normal. I wouldn't fret about it at all, but also, don't be afraid to bother them. Send them an email once every other week and just see how the winds are blowing. They "work" for you and everyone wins if you win. Don't blow up their inbox every day with a new question or update. But once a week might be okay, but certainly every other week is totally fine.

Recruiters work for the party that pays them.
