Did a spit-take at happy hour
I was having a glass of champagne at happy hour before Thanksgiving last week. I was with a a few associates and two partners from my firm. One of the partners cracked a joke, and I literally spit out my drink (in truth, the joke was not *that* funny). Anyway, my wine landed on another associate's forehead. She looked annoyed as she wiped it off. Neither of us acknowledged what occurred. I just stood there awkwardly. Is my career over?

You're not necessarily toast, though you should have apologized. Anecdotally, a friend of mine got a job through a law school networking event because of a spit-take. Attorney he was talking to cracked a joke, my friend laughed so hard that he spat out his drink, and the other attorney loved it. Gave him his card after, very much an "I like this guy" kind of moment. I did not spit-take at his joke, no business card for me. YMMV.

Re: Did a spit-take at happy hour
During my second year of law school, I came to class one day while sick as a dog because that's what people used to do pre-pandemic. I had a combo of diseases going on that involved coughing, hacking, nose sniffles, and of course exhaustion.
The most horrific thing imaginable happened to me during that class: I got hit with a simultaneous perfect storm combination of a cough, a yawn, and a sneeze all at exactly the same time. I emitted a really bizarre noise and a large globule of liquid exited my face (I assume my mouth but can't be sure), flew several feet, and landed directly on the cheek of a 3L seated next to me. It was solidified enough that for a split second you could see it actually resting on his cheek.
Anyway, I survived that so I think you'll be okay.
