Hi all,
I'm currently a junior patent litigation associate at a v10 firm, and I'm considering making the jump over to the corp side, possibly tech trans. Here are my current thoughts :
Reasons for switching: 1) my plan is to go in-house in a few years, and job prospects for patent litigators in that regard are slim. 2) I'm not particularly adversarial and do not enjoy the high pressure that there will be a loser and a winner at the end of a case (we actually go to trial all the time instead of settling).
Reasons against switching: 1) the job is actually interesting 50% of the time - I do like the analytical nature of it. 2) I applied for federal district court clerkships back when I was sure I want to do lit, and have gotten several interviews.
Can someone please tell me whether any of the above-mentioned reasons are just nonsense. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
