Leaving Law and Returning(?)
How hard is it to get back into law after leaving the field? For context, I've worked two years in big law and am considering a role at a PE firm. I don't know if this is a bad idea though and am not fully certain whether I will be able to hack it; while I think my personality and goals are more closely aligned with PE, my math and financial modeling skills are not strong. A huge part of me really wants to give this a shot though - if I wash up in 6 months or a year, would I be able to go back to the legal world? What about after 5 years in PE or a different role? At what point is it too hard to reenter the legal profession?

Take the opportunity and don’t look back. You will never want to return anyway.
