As the title says, considering Hogan, Freshfields, and Weil. Freshfields and Weil would be for a specific practice group.
Long-term interest in pivoting to government.

Antitrust?
If so, prestige I would say W (gap), F, and H. From what I know about the 3 groups, I would take H then W then F for best work/life balance. Have known people at all 3.

If this is for antitrust, I don't think Weil's antitrust group is that much better than Freshfields' group (which is growing in the US and probably top-3 globally) or Hogan's group. Freshfields and Hogan have a much larger European presence if that matters to you, as sometimes US associates can do some amount of EC work. Weil and Freshfields will have more M&A to handle. If you vibe with the people better at one firm, all three are a defensible choice.

I would go go Hogan in DC unless you have a truly compelling reason to go to the other two.
