DPW v. Latham v. S&C v. Skadden for regulatory/white collar investigation work

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 13, 2022 1:19 am

Currently deciding between DPW, Latham, S&C and Skadden NYC - I feel really thankful for these offers and would appreciate any advice or input!
For practice areas I am mainly interested in financial regulatory work since (I was told) regulatory lawyers advise on deals but still get to do some legal research/write memos/help out with enforcement so it seems like a nice middle position in between corporate and litigation, although I think for all the above firms, financial regulatory would fall under Corporate - Financial Institutions/Financial Services.
I also have a secondary interest in white collar/investigation work and is open to do general litigation work as well.

In terms of firm culture I think I liked Latham (relatively laid-back, people nice and sociable) over the others but I am not sure if their regulatory/litigation practices are as strong compared to the others and whether the perceived "culture" actually matter that much.

Would be really grateful for any advice/input!
