Toxic. The most "personable" associates they sent to my T14 OCI were very unpleasant.

They should merge with Paul comma Weiss and become Paul comma Paul.

How is Cravath V1 when it’s also a miserable place to work?

Guys I'm starting to think these Firsthand rankings might not be everything they were cracked up to be

They’re a good proxy for prestige, especially wrt NYC transactional. The issue is that law students take rankings way too literally and think they must work at #11 over #19.ExpOriental wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 2:11 pmGuys I'm starting to think these Firsthand rankings might not be everything they were cracked up to be

Re: Paul Hastings NY
I work at Paul Hastings (non-NY office, non-corporate) and I've found it a pretty good place to work, at least compared to the impression I get of other Biglaw firms. I definitely understand the high ratings we get for work-life balance, if the complaints I see on TLS are anywhere close to representative of what it's like to work elsewhere in Biglaw. I'm sincerely sorry our NY associates left such a bad impression on one of the posters above, and I'm confident my colleagues in my office - at least from any of the groups I've worked with - would not do the same. I've also worked closely with colleagues based in other offices around the world, and while I do not know most of them as well on a personal level, it would surprise me to hear that any of them had been viewed as toxic, even in a fleeting recruitment encounter.
Though I think an old TLS thread had bad things to say about PH San Diego. I can't really comment on that.

I’m trying to understand, why is Paul Hastings NY poorly regarded?
