Littler is sub market to the point that nobody at the market-salary level, or anything close to it, is going to care.

In my view, the primary question right now is whether the prior “special” end of the year bonuses will be repeated or whether we are back to normal bonuses. My hope for anything mid year is gone.

But if LiTTTler of all places is doing well enough to offer special bonuses, it seems that an actual biglaw firm certainly would as well. I'm a midlevel in IP Lit at a firm with PPP >4.5M, and we certainly have been insanely busy at least in our practice. I am both expecting, and fucking DEMANDING, summer and fall bonuses.

Can somebody lay out a “domino trail” analysis of how this could force a market-setting firm (Milbank, CSM, DPW) to respond with special bonuses of their own?

Isn’t this just a talent defense move because of all the Miami office openings?

I'd love a bonus but if the market really demands one now nothing is stopping you from going to Littler.

Problem Littler likely has is their best people have the option to go to market-rate biglaw. Their billing rates are too low to pay full biglaw, but they are doing what they can to retain talent.

Can confirm that the bonuses were so small that none of you should care.

Greenberg Traurig also offered summer bonuses in Miami. Any idea how big those were?

Heard rumblings that Skadden is giving summer bonuses as well. Any word if true or flame?
