Clerking in a secondary market - how soon to start networking and applying to local firms?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Jul 29, 2022 2:36 pm

I will soon start clerking for a COA judge in a secondary market that has some biglaw firms (think Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Miami, Seattle). When should I start networking and applying to local biglaw offices? My judge has former clerks working in the area, and I believe they will help if they can. I'm barred in one of DC/Il/NY, but not in my target market. I worked in biglaw for a year and graduated with honors, but have limited ties to the area.

TIA!

(anon because previous posts could identify me and this post is pretty specific)
