Hi all! I'm a rising 2L at a MVPB going through the OCI process. I'm comfortably below median, so I was very conservative with my bidlist, but I was surprised to find that several "reach" firms that were listed in our school's data as well outside my GPA range in a competitive market pre-selected me for OCI.
I know that means very little in the grand scheme of things, but given an unexpected bump in my confidence, I decided to shoot my shot at other firms that I excluded from my bidlist for strategic reasons through networking/mass-mailing. (I mean, why reject myself before a firm can reject me)
My question is when is the absolute latest for competitive V50 firms that you can send applications? I'm definitely going to try get them out before OCI starts, but I'm trying to gauge how much time I have to network. Thanks!
When do V50 firms stop recruiting outside OCI? Forum

Earlier than for non-V50 firms. Or maybe later.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 12:35 pmHi all! I'm a rising 2L at a MVPB going through the OCI process. but what about all the high-impact networking OP intends to accomplish in the next four weeks? Surely one should keep the powder dry until the belated responses to emails roll in

OP here. I appreciate the replies. Just earlier is better, I guess.
And lol, no I don't think it's going to be "high impact" networking that makes any sort of substantial difference but just meeting with some folks I know to get a better sense of specific firms to better tailor my application materials. The Lsat Airbender wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 10:47 ambut what about all the high-impact networking OP intends to accomplish in the next four weeks? This is a fine instinct but getting into the queue is more important than having a nuanced cover letter. Get your résumé in front of people and let them decide if you're worth a flyerAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 12:54 pmAnd lol, no I don't think it's going to be "high impact" networking that makes any sort of substantial difference but just meeting with some folks I know to get a better sense of specific firms to better tailor my application materials.
to be clear, networking is still worthwhile if you have the energy
