Latham Start Date
Has any Latham office given start dates yet? Incoming associate class of '22 at a west coast office and haven't heard anything...

Starting this fall at a non-WC Latham office. No word yet. Also frustrated by this especially since most of my classmates have had theirs for months at this point.

Also wondering this. In NY office and have heard nothing.
Heard through the grapevine that they said they would let us know around June, and will probably give us the 3 start date options between August - November.

Historically Latham sends out dates in July some time, but the dates are always close to the same, late October and mid-late November (you get to choose, most ppl chose the earlier date). Some offices that may need hands can get early dates in mid-late September, but that is year and office dependent - Expect NYC, LA, DC, CHI, maybe Houston and Austin this year for those.

So last year's August option was a product of the hot market? Dang, I was hoping for August this year.Right2BearArms wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 9:48 amHistorically Latham sends out dates in July some time, but the dates are always close to the same, late October and mid-late November (you get to choose, most ppl chose the earlier date). What office are you starting in? My sense is that NYC, DC, LA, CHI and probably Palo Alto have the early option almost every year. Energy has been hot and the Austin office is taking off, so I would expect Houston and Austin to also have an early option this year as well.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 12:21 pmSo last year's August option was a product of the hot market? That said, if you can start in October, do it. 4-6 weeks will make no material difference if your training or pocketbook in 2-3 years, but the opportunity to travel, see friends, move and settle in, or just chill for a few extra weeks before you hop on the treadmill will be worth it for your mental state IMO. I was Latham class of 2015 and was disappointed my office didn't offer an earlier start than late October (I wanted to start, learn and also make $$$). In retrospect, I am glad I had the extra time to do whatever I wanted, it was my last stress-free time for 6+ years until I resigned earlier this year.

Sorry, nothing specific. From my limited experiences, its a solid office with the typical start dates, though I did not work there or can offer anything better for you.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 6:08 pmNot OP but any insight into the Orange County office start?Right2BearArms wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 2:58 pmWhat office are you starting in? Assume late october late start and go from there. In reality, enjoy every day before you start.
