I don't think this is a great deal -- at least on comp. Depending on whether you're a 3rd or 4th year, you're taking something like a ~175k comp. hit. Maybe that's cool if it is truly a lifestyle type job, do you really think it will be (that's not rhetorical, I am wondering if you have very solid intel that it will be, otherwise I'm skeptical as a general matter).
What kind of debt are you servicing? Also, how big is this company and what is the actual role?

Thanks for responding. Lifestyle confirmed through 2 friends who have no reason to lie or inflate. Servicing a very manageable amount of house debt (couple hundred thousand) and that’s it. No car debt. Good cash cushion (100).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 2:27 pmPlease let me know your thoughts on this comp package for an in-house role in Texas. Legal counsel role at large company. Absolute to work for the various legal divisions, you move groups every 5 years. Next job would be like 225 base.
Biglaw pays a lot because it controls your life. I’ve done the diligence to ensure this would be a material change from that.

That's definitely at the higher end for 3/4 YOE for Texas.
