What is your firm’s SA lunch budget?
Management says the cap is $30 per person (DC firm). That seems laughable. Are we supposed to take summers to Potbelly / Chipotle / Shake Shack every day?
This made me wonder - what’s your firm’s SA lunch budget (& city, for context)?

Re: What is your firm’s SA lunch budget?
$50/each for lunch, $100/each for dinner at Kirkland (Texas, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same policy in other offices).

Also DC, and the lunch budget is $60. My previous firm's (NY V10) budget is $80.

When I was a summer we could expense alcohol at lunch in Texas, but now they changed the policy to be “in line with the other offices.” Lame!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 7:28 pmKE chicago is $60 pp for lunch and $125 pp for dinner. Probably a dumb-seeming question but is that per day or week?

Per week. If you take 2-3 summers out, most firms recommend splitting entrees or just ordering apps to make the budget work.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 1:51 amProbably a dumb-seeming question but is that per day or week?

S&C is $100 per person ($150 per person for dinners). $1,000 total budget per associate for the summer.

The ropes budget is per person per meal. So a 4 person lunch in Boston is $240 max and in NY us is $300Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 1:51 amProbably a dumb-seeming question but is that per day or week?

S&C's summer budget is interesting. No firm has a higher nominal per person summer budget as far as I know, but most firms do not have a total budget limit and so you can spend more at other places than you would at S&C.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 1:40 pmTotal budget? Also, am I the only associate who would rather not do summer lunches because of how long it takes to be reimbursed?

Re: What is your firm’s SA lunch budget?
Whoah whoah whoah - per week? Cap for the summer?? I’m the KE Texas anon above and the $50 lunch /$100 dinner figures I quoted are per person per meal. There is no limit to how many associates can take out how many summers across the program. I mean presumably if you tried to expense two simultaneous lunches on the same day that would be an issue, but there’s nothing stopping a summer (or associate) from having a $50/pp lunch and $100/pp dinner five days a week for all ten weeks.Sackboy wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 2:38 amPer week. I'm in NY but it's all up to the associate. I plan on going pretty hard this summer to compensate for missing previous summers, assuming I actually like some of the summersAnonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 8:41 pmHow often are associates even expected to take out summer associates?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 8:26 pmWhoah whoah whoah - per week?
