I'm a rising 2L at a T14 and plan to start applying en masse to firms once applications open for summer 2023. I have good grades (as of fall semester -- but it's basically impossible they'll fall below 3.5/6), so I think I have a real shot at locking down an offer before OCI. But I'm just unsure about how to go about doing callbacks when working a full time job. My internship starts the day after Memorial Day, so it's right when I'll be applying and could be doing interviews soon after. If a firm wants an in-person callback, is it weird to ask for two days off to go to a different city for an interview? Or even if it's a virtual callback, is it considered acceptable to tell my job I need a day off for an interview?
I'm doing a remote unpaid federal government job, so I'm not concerned about doing screeners. But I'm unsure whether there might be government policies about days off for stuff like this (whereas there might be more flexibility in the private sector).
Days off from 1L summer internship for callbacks? Forum

Re: Days off from 1L summer internship for callbacks?
I work for the feds and I would be utterly shocked if anyone gave you any flack whatsoever. Yes, an actual paid employee has to take leave time to miss work, but you're not paid - you're an unpaid intern. And while I know offices greatly appreciate the work that interns do, in reality no one is going to give you crucial time-sensitive work that will keep you from taking time off for an interview. Your school may require you to do a certain number of hours to get credit over the summer or something, but I doubt this would be an issue in practice - you'll just make them up.haldren2198 wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 12:53 pmI'm a rising 2L at a T14 and plan to start applying en masse to firms once applications open for summer 2023. Nobody will care, just give people a heads up when you know the dates.haldren2198 wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 12:53 pmI'm a rising 2L at a T14 and plan to start applying en masse to firms once applications open for summer 2023.
