Vinson & Elkins Summer Advance/Bar Stipend
Hi does anyone have any information on what kind of benefits V&E provides starting associates post-graduation but pre-bar admission? Do they pay a stipend/graduation bonus? Or a salary advance? Bar fees? Stub bonus? Thank you!

Last year it was a $10K advance on your salary that comes out of your paycheck in increments over a year. i.e. I got $10K and $300-400 comes out of each paycheck to pay for it. The straight up bonuses may sound nice, but I've always heard that a lot of firms that do that don't give stub bonuses - we did get a stub bonus, so I think it evens out.

Stub bonuses are way less than actual stipends that you don’t have to pay back (e.g., KE/LW/etc.)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 5:33 pmLast year it was a $10K advance on your salary that comes out of your paycheck in increments over a year. i.e. I got $10K and $300-400 comes out of each paycheck to pay for it. Thanks so much for this response. Around when did you receive your salary advance? May? June? I was also curious how much your stub bonus was. Was it simply the prorated amount of the market bonus for 1st years? Just wanted to plan my finances for that summer ahead of time. Really appreciate it.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 5:33 pmLast year it was a $10K advance on your salary that comes out of your paycheck in increments over a year. i.e. I got $10K and $300-400 comes out of each paycheck to pay for it.
