Negotiating Clerkship Bonus Recovery When Switching Firms
I started at a biglaw firm about 5 months ago and received a clerkship bonus with a 24 month commitment (earned pro rata over the 24 months). I want to switch practice areas and I am currently interviewing with other firms. How likely is it that I will be able to convince a new firm to cover what I owe to my current firm?

Re: Negotiating Clerkship Bonus Recovery When Switching Firms
I'm just curious, how large was this clerkship bonus? 24 months seems like a very long tail. 12 months is fairly common for signing bonuses to laterals these days (even large $100-200K signing bonuses).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 5:23 pmI started at a biglaw firm about 5 months ago and received a clerkship bonus with a 24 month commitment (earned pro rata over the 24 months).
