Biglaw corporate to fed government?
Hi y'all, was wondering if anyone had any anecdotal evidence of people moving from biglaw corporate to fed gov't positions? Specifically, SEC, DOJ, or FTC? Are they looking for laterals with lit experience?

No specific evidence but from what I’ve gleaned over time, my sense is that litigators are more in need than transactional attorneys at those agencies.

I was in a call for Enforcement at the SEC a month or so again. They indicated lit experience is better, but not a prerequisite. I'm assuming other agencies there (like Corp Fin?) would even think corp is a plus.randolawyer wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 5:18 pmHi y'all, was wondering if anyone had any anecdotal evidence of people moving from biglaw corporate to fed gov't positions? Which fed agencies would have needs for transactional corporate experience?
