Haven’t heard back after accepting offer
I accepted an offer from a v5 firm last OCI in NY but haven’t heard anything back about the start date or background check yet. Is this normal? Thanks!

Re: Haven’t heard back after accepting offer

It depends on the firm; there is nothing concerning about not hearing anything. Radio silence even into March is not concerning or unusual.

Re: Haven’t heard back after accepting offer
Totally normal — V5 firms typically move on these things slowly because they are physically dragged down by all the heavy prestige they carry.

(In all seriousness, this is nothing to worry about. When I was in your shoes a few years ago, I heard nothing until from my [admittedly non-V5] firm until mid-March, and I believe that was on the early side relative to some of my other 2L friends.)

Almost adorable how obvious it is that the raison d'etre of this post is to mention "v5"
ETA: also, this means you've been blacklisted. Retake.

Re: Haven’t heard back after accepting offer
OP here. The reason for “v5” is because afaik, 4 of the 5 has already communicated to their summers about plans; I was originally hoping somebody from the firm would know something more.
No reason for me to be “flexing” v5 using an anon post on a Sunday night, but now looking back on it, realize it could’ve come off as cringey
Thanks everyone!
