Possibility of people in the new firm telling my current partner about me interviewing with them?

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Dec 04, 2021 5:43 am

I’m interviewing with a new firm. Any chance people in the new firm I’m speaking with tell my current colleagues or partners? Same practice group. The firms are very familiar with each other. I’m a little worried that my partner will find out before I get a new offer. That’ll be awkward.

I also sent a bunch of applications to some other firms that my partners and colleagues know very well. Would people disclose these things “unintentionally”?

I’m only a second year, so not that it really matters to any of the partners. I honestly think they won’t care. But I can’t sleep worrying about it.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Should I just tell the new firm to not disclose my current situation?

Many thanks in advance.
